With the amount of money I spent here o really expected better quality and service. I'm a customer address me as "sir" not "bro" or "boss" just because I'm young doesn't mean I don't deserve your associates respect. Now onto the ring.
While someone worked on my watch, a sales lady put my rings in to clean. She pulled them out and began inspecting the stones, as she started talking about rhodium plating. I tried to explain I wasn't interested but she persisted. She also informed me that most of the stones in my rings were loose and that I'd have to leave them to get the rings repaired and properly cleaned. Admittedly, I am pretty hard on my rings, but I'm not sure why that gives anyone the right to talk to me like I'm an idiot. I wanted to know how much the repairs would cost and how long it would take to get them back. The sales lady absolutely would not tell me. I asked several times and the only response she gave me was that "it won't be cheap." Are you joking me? What kind of service is that? She started making notes on a card about my rings, but I felt incredibly uncomfortable leaving my rings unexpectedly. I declined the service and this lady was still trying to sell me rhodium plating. When I took my rings to a different local jeweler, I was able to get my rings cleaned and 15 stones tightened in 30 minutes for only $20. Oddly enough, I would have paid thousands to repair my ring, but not if you are going to talk down to me or if you are pushy about me leaving these very expensive pieces with you. Unlike at Jared's, at the other jeweler no one made me feel like a terrible person for refusing rhodium plating and taking "poor care" of my rings.
A couple of months ago I stopped into Jared's because I needed to have a watch my husband bought sized down. While I was there they offered to clean my rings. My experience with both the watch-sizing and ring cleaning were very bad and I left extremely frustrated.
Jared has 5 times the selection of most jewelry stores, and great customer service.
I do NOT recommend this store. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere but here.
I just bought my second watch from Jared, the first was back in 2004. Both times their prices were better than all other authorized dealers I checked with - but still within the manufacturer's guidelines. This time, their price was also better than a "grey market" watch from an unauthorized, online retailer because of close out pricing on this particular model. It's really hard to beat saving money. That said, the service from the personnel is uneven. Some people have good product knowledge, and others are not well informed. Some really seem to make an effort to give good service, and others are inattentive. The manager of the timepiece department is Joe Mazziotta, and he is fantastic. He's attentive and knowledgeable and just a decent guy. So if you in the market for a watch and consider yourself an enthusiast, ask to speak with Joe.
Never had a problem. Beautiful jewelry. Excellent service. Extremely knowledgeable.
Now for the watch...The gentleman tasked with sizing my watch had to come back to me three times to get the right size. On his final try, I told him I still felt the watch was too tight. He insisted that it wasn't and that I should just try it for a week. But to be sure to come back within the week if I need it loosened. Again, this was terrible service in my book. The watch is on my wrist, so I'm pretty sure I know if it needs to be one link bigger (and yes, it is slightly too small to this day). Also, why do I need to come back within the week if you are refusing to size the way I am asking in the first place? There was much fuss made over the fact that my husband had bought the watch 2 months prior, as if I had waited too long to get it sized even though the watch sat in the box for those 2 months. This was a waste of a purchase and I'm glad it was a very inexpensive piece. But I will definitely not be returning to nor recommending anyone visit this Jared's ever.
For 4 grand I shouldn't have to return to your store every 4 months to have it repaired.
